Jo Ann Torrez

is a native of Austin, Texas. She graduated from Crockett High School in 1989 and attended the University of Texas from 1989 to 1993. She attended St. Mary’s Law School from 1998-2001. In her last job before becoming a family law mediator/attorney, Jo Ann Torrez, was employed as a judicial aide with the Travis County District Judge’s Office. She is very famliar with the Travis County court system and family law. She has over 10 years experience, primarily in family law.

Ms. Torrez is bilingual and able to conduct mediations in Spanish. She is also a mother, which provides her a unique perspective when trying to settle cases in the area of family law. Our goal at Mediation of Central Austin is to minimize the stress from divorce and other family law litigation and empower litigants to take control of their lives.

She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Family Law Section, Juvenile Law Section and Insurance Section of the State Bar. She is a member of the Travis County Women’s Lawyer Association and Hispanic Bar Association.

Monica Ogilvie

is a mediator and a licensed attorney. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin and her Juris Doctorate with honors from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Ms. Ogilvie received mediation training and advanced family mediation training at the Dispute Resolution Center in Austin, Texas. The focus of her law practice is family law.

Before joining Mediation of Central Austin, Monica’s experience included positions as an attorney for the United States Small Business Administration, staff attorney for the Texas Department of Public Safety, and as an Assistant Attorney General at the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.

She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the College of the State Bar of Texas, Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, and the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association. Monica is also a candidate for membership of the Texas Association of Mediators.
